Charlotte Tanner's Media coursework

My name is Charlotte Tanner and I am a year 13 Media Studies Student. This blog contains everything to do with my A2 media coursework, such as planning, research, questionnaires and results etc. There are various pictures to show how we planned different things including one of the brainstorm my group put together, when deciding to do a music video, or a film trailer. I personally preferred to have a small group and i found two people who wanted to form a group with me but we ended up being two as the other person wanted to go with other people but we have started to discuss ideas and have chosen a few possible song choices. We came to the conclusion that a music video would be much better to do because we both love music and from seeing previous A2 media coursework music videos, they seem interesting to create. We thought that we could use our knowledge of the songs lyrics to fit in a story and different camera angles to make the video look edgy and interesting, so we could show different theories through our music video, so that it looks more like our own video rather than copying an origional. As I personally think that without the explanation of theory in music videos, they would all be the same as its really noticing their differences by looking at them in depth and seeing how different camera angles and editing show theories in videos with their different genres. In my blog there are also previews of the preliminary task we had to do in groups, the school chase sequence and a typed script our teachers gave us. I was in a different group for this but it was interesting to work with different people as i built up even more ideas for the final video i would do as the main part of my coursework! It shows how we got used to using cameras and making the shots visible and effective through our filming.

Here is a picture of the brain storm my group produced as part of our first stage of planning.
